April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop - Color Your Life

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month
Blog Hop!

This month I am following {Michelle Stewart's Blog.}   We have 22 Close to My Heart Consultants participating in this month’s Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you lose your place while traveling through our blog hop, the complete list of participants can be found here.

The April Stamp of the Month is entitled Color Your Life (S1804) (Set of  12).   Here is a picture of this stamp set:

I really, really, REALLY wanted to make this into a card but was very stumped as to what I wanted to say.  I mean, who wants a card that says be Kind (even when they could use the reminder).  LOL  I even thought of taking the letters separately and making new words with them but after sleeping on it and going to my spiritual meeting today, I decided to make a special card for people who are going through trials in their life and could use more than a thinking of you card.

Here is my card.

As usual, my creative process went one direction and ended up in an entirely different place.  I was watching a video on the faux bleaching technique and pulled out some of my reinkers, Spray Pens (Z1380), and my All-purpose mats (Z2405).  I filled each of my Spray Pens with 10 drops of reinker and then added water until the spritz bottle was half full.

I had 6 different colors and came out and sprayed randomly onto my White Daisy cardstock (1385).  I let it dry and that made the sentiment panel of my card.  I will be posting a video this week showing how much fun it is to create backgrounds for your cards using reinkers and our Spray pens.

I am kind of chuckling now that the name of the stamp set is Color Your Life.  I managed to make quite a few colorful backgrounds and thoroughly enjoyed the process.

Something to remember is that these backgrounds take a little bit of time to dry and are a little bit warped.  I always use plenty of adhesive to tape the panel down to the mat that is backing it and that seems to straighten it out.  I also start off with a larger White Daisy panel that I need and cut it down to the size I want.

The sentiment is stamped with our Archival Black Ink (Z3271) and I doodled around the edge with our LePen Journaling Pen (Z1979).  I even colored in some of the doodles on the stamped image because I wanted it to "POP".  Then I assembled the card into a 4 1/4" x 9 1/2" card.  The background paper used is from our Whimsy Paper Fundamentals (Z3350) and I added a strip of Black Glitter Paper (Z3236).

The April Stamp of the Month Stamp Set can be purchased for $17.95 or if you purchase $50 in CTMH products, you can add this stamp set to your order for an additional $5.  This stamp set is only available between April 1 – April 30, 2018.
